Trace the life of Ireland's patron saint in the Downpatrick
Saint Patrick Centre, or visit Downpatrick Cathedral built
in 1183. Early monastic sites nearby include Inch Abbey
which was founded in 1180, and Nendrum Monastry which
was founded with St Patrick's blessing.
Fascinating
exhibitions on the history of Down, and restored cells
can be seen in our old county gaol - the location for
Down County Museum.
