Walking is considered to be one of the best ways to stay healthy; it’s simple, inexpensive, and provides countless benefits for your body, such as reducing the risk of heart disease, heightening cognitive responses, and can boost the immune system. Get outside and ditch the gadgets for an hour and you’ll soon be making strides in your mental well-being as well since walking is proven therapy for stress.

Outdoor NI lists a number of themed walking expeditions in County Down that are an excellent way to keep fit while having fun. This month they are hosting a series of Nordic Walking Days in Castlewellan Forest Park.
